How to answer questions in Outlook email? ›

In the Options pane, select Mail > Automatic processing > Reply settings. In Reply settings, choose the option you prefer: Reply: Your reply is sent only to the sender. Reply all: Your reply is sent to everyone on the To and Cc lines.

Check if you have the Reactions feature enabled in Outlook. You can do this by opening Outlook, switching to the File tab, and selecting Options > Mail. In the Message arrival section, make sure that Show reactions is checked.

In your message list, choose the message that you want to reply to. and then choose Reply or Reply all. Type your response, and then select Send.

In the Rules and Alerts dialog box, on the E-mail Rules tab, select New Rule. Under Start from a blank rule, click Apply rule on messages I receive and click Next. To reply to every email message you receive, leave the Step 1 and Step 2 boxes unchanged and click Next again.

Reacting to an email

When you receive an email, and you want to send a reaction: Select the reactions button near the top of the message window and you'll see a gallery of reactions you can choose from. Select your reaction and it will be sent to the message sender and displayed for anyone else in the conversation.

Start Outlook in safe mode

Sometimes, an Outlook add-in will crash and prevent your email messages from sending. To disable all add-ins, you can start Outlook in safe mode. If you can send email while Outlook is in safe mode, creating a new Outlook email profile should allow you to send email again.

Reply to the email

Press Ctrl+R to Reply to a message. Press Ctrl+Shift+R to Reply to all message.
