In honor of #MentalHealthMonth, our Employee Wellness Challenge for May is focused on participation in this special observance month. 😄🙌For this challenge, Cummins team members are invited to submit a photo or written explanation showing how they promoted mental health throughout the month. For example, they could take a photo of themselves engaging in a self-care activity, share a brief narrative about encouraging family to go on a walk together and be present in the moment, or complete an activity from the MHA Mental Health Month toolkit with a photo or statement about it.At the end of the month, we will randomly select a few participants to receive prizes.     Yesterday I listened-in to learning Hayley's story and perspective. A few takeaways:👉 Sharing personal stories brings value and perspective; vulnerability is a superpower. 👉 You are a human being, not a human doing. Your best may look different every day (reminds me of this Adam Grant post: "variability is a feature, not a bug" https://lnkd.in/eSfMXegk)👉 There's life and death in the power of the tongue. 👉 If someone comes to mind, contact them; don't ignore the prompts to contact someone, it could be more impactful than you think. 👉 Don't forget about daily affirmations! Music can be powerful, like the song "I Can" by Nas...     Mental health awareness month is over, but that doesn’t mean employers aren’t still concerned about this topic. Alyssa Place's article from Employee Benefit News has some great points and stats to confirm what I've believed for a long time. Mental Health is a major area of concern for many employers and the lack of providers is a major problem. However, in her article she also states that 61% of employers were dissatisfied with the employee engagement.
